Is there some way I can convert this and apply it to my bill? I know I could buy gift cards with it, but that wouldn't really put me ahead, would it?
I guess I could buy something for near the amount and return it?
Yes, I went a little crazy with the awesome Kohls deals.

I don't think buying something and returning it would help either because since you bought it with merchandise credit you will get a return of merchandise credit.
I think your best bet would be to offer it for sale in the fish market!

I have used gift cards to pay my bill. You could convert it to gift cards and do that.

Excellent! I thought I had read that, but when I looked at my account online it didn't give an option to pay with gift cards. Did you pay at the Customer service desk? Maybe the 800 number?

Bummer. You can't buy gift cards with merchandise credit. Instead I made several $50 purchases which I can return. At the least, I will get $50 merchandise credit cards which I can give to our kids for Christmas.

Did you try online? I've used merchandise credit to order GCs online.

You can always try selling the merchandise credit, ebay or craigslist..
